Clockwords: Prelude Walkthrough

Clockwords: Prelude is the first of the Clockworks series of typing games. This word game features outstanding graphics, cartoonish characters that will appeal to children, a storyline that brings purpose to the game, and forty challenging levels.

The objective of Clockworks: Prelude is to protect your inventions from your rival. To accomplish this goal you must type words to provide ammunition to a cannon to destroy your enemy's robots. The cannon fires automatically; you just have to keep it supplied with ammo by typing in those words! If too many enemies slip past your defenses, you will lose the round and be forced to retry the level. Your progress is saved upon the completion of each level in this typing game, so you can continue from where you left off the next time that you play.

As you progress in Clockwords: Prelude, more letter will be added to the boiler. Although you can type in any word to feed ammunition to your cannon (provided that you have not used the same word in the current round), typing words using the letters at the bottom of the screen deals more damage to enemies. For this reason, it is a good idea to transmute letters between rounds. You can transmute letters by adding two letters of the same level to the green liquid and clicking the transmute button. A new letter of a higher level will be created. Letters of higher levels deal more damage in this typing game, so transmutation is sometimes worth it. Try to transmute letters that you have multiple copies of so that you can wield a powerful and diverse alphabetic arsenal!

Clockwords: Prelude is a splendid game for children due to its cartoonish appeal and the educational potential of its gameplay. Players have to have great typing skills to keep a steady feed of ammunition in their cannon, so children can use this game to hone their keyboarding abilities. Knowledge of the English Lexicon is also important in this word game; words can only be used once per round, so players will have to be creative. Longer words provide more ammunition and using letters that appear at the bottom of the screen deals more damage to enemies, providing players with an incentive to expand their vocabulary. This typing game is presented by Dictionary.com, so no L337 slang is allowed here; players will have to know real English words to advance!

Not only is Clockwords: Prelude an entertaining game, but it can also be used as a tool to improve typing, vocabulary, or even the cognitive skill of processing speed. If you want to have fun and improve your lexicon at the same time, then you will enjoy this typing game!
